Privacy Policy

Breakfast is a macOS app published by Beatshop Labs. It runs on your own Mac and drives Claude Code against your projects. This policy explains what data Breakfast touches, what leaves your machine, and what — if anything — Beatshop Labs stores about you.

The short version: Breakfast is local software. Your code and project files never reach a Beatshop Labs server, because there isn't one that reads them. The only information we hold about you comes from a purchase, if and when you make one.

Who we are

The "app" is the Breakfast macOS application. The "site" is breakfast.build. Both are operated by Beatshop Labs ("we", "us"), the data controller for the limited information described here. You can reach us at privacy@breakfast.build.

What stays on your Mac vs. what reaches us

Almost everything Breakfast does happens locally. The app stores your project list, queue, settings, worktree state, and session logs on your own disk. None of that is transmitted to Beatshop Labs.

The only network traffic Breakfast originates is:

• Update checks — to our download host, to see if a newer version exists.
• License validation — to our payment provider, to confirm a Pro license key you entered.

Separately, Claude Code — which Breakfast launches — talks to Anthropic under your own account. That path is covered by Anthropic's terms and privacy policy, not this one.

Your Claude account and email

Breakfast signs in using your existing Claude Code login. To show you which account is active, the app reads the account email that Claude Code already stores locally on your Mac (in ~/.claude.json). This value is displayed in the app and used to run sessions under your subscription. Breakfast does not transmit your Claude account email to Beatshop Labs — it is read locally and stays on your machine.

Purchases and license records

When paid sales open, Breakfast will be sold through Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record. If you buy a license:

• Gumroad collects your email address and payment details and processes the transaction. We never see your full card number — Gumroad handles payment.
• Gumroad issues a license key and a receipt, and shares the order record with us: your email, the license key, and basic purchase metadata (product, date, order ID).
• We keep those license records to deliver your purchase, validate your license, provide support, and handle refunds.
• The app stores your license key locally and validates it against Gumroad's license service. That check sends only the license key — not your code or personal files.

Software updates

Breakfast checks for updates using Sparkle, an open-source updater. It periodically requests our update feed atdl.breakfast.build (hosted on Cloudflare). Like any web request, this carries your IP address and the app version so the server can respond. Sparkle can optionally send an anonymous system profile; that is off unless you turn it on, and you can disable automatic update checks in the app's settings.

Analytics and tracking

Breakfast does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and there is no Beatshop Labs server that receives usage telemetry from the app. We do not build a profile of how you use Breakfast. The website is a static site with no analytics cookies or third-party trackers; our host (Cloudflare) keeps standard, short-lived server logs for security and reliability.

Your code and project data

Your repositories, task files, commits, and everything Breakfast generates stay on your Mac. Breakfast has no server component that reads your code. Code leaves your machine only where Claude Code already sends it — to Anthropic, under your own account and their terms.

Third parties we rely on

• Anthropic — provides Claude Code, which Breakfast launches under your own subscription.
• Gumroad — merchant of record for purchases, license issuance, receipts, and refunds.
• Cloudflare — hosts the website and serves app downloads and the update feed.

How long we keep data

We retain license and order records for as long as needed to support your purchase and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Local data (settings, logs, worktrees) lives only on your Mac and is removed when you delete it or uninstall the app.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you — which, in practice, is your purchase and license record. To make a request, email privacy@breakfast.build. You can also uninstall the app at any time, which removes all local data, and manage or delete checkout data directly with Gumroad.

Children

Breakfast is a developer tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Breakfast evolves — for example, when paid sales open. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
